"With this blessing, the readers of

The Feng Shui Anthology is a collection of great writing by Feng Shui experts from around the world. Combining the ideology behind spirituality, aesthetics, fine arts, and religion, and using various aspects, perspectives, and themes, this book explains in everyday language the result of profound research.

It lets us know that if we understand and apply Feng Shui, our powers of creativity, analysis, judgment, and cognition will naturally be enhanced. This understanding will reinforce our mental and physical health, as well as elevate wealth.

Jami's favorite "Anthology moment..."

During the years that the Feng Shui Anthology has been published, I have had hundreds of people tell me what a great book that it is. But one moment sticks out above all others and it was not what was said....

One day I was teaching at a women's conference and a lady (who I had never met) ran up to me to autograph her Anthology. I never saw a book look so bad. The pages were yellow, the cover was torn, and so many pages were folded back marking favorite pages. While studying a good book I also mark up my books, fill them with notes and dog-ear pages, but hers was a mess! I couldn't help but ask, why it looked so terrible. Happily she replied, "It is my bible. It goes on the treadmill, goes to my children's after-school activities, and even soaks with me in the tub. It was one of proudest moments! I wish I had a camera!

Yes, it IS the Feng Shui book by which all others are measured...

Preface - Jami Lin
I always love reading the preface of a book. They usually share the motivations and passion why an author decides o sink their heart and soul into a book. While I spent months working with the authors during the editorial process, my motivations were different than with my other books. In addition to wanting to get into the heads of al these experts, I wanted to help share their knowledge with the world. Enjoy my thoughts and heart...

Foreword - Grand Master Lin Yun
Master Lin Yun says, " It is clear that Jami Lin, who excels in morals as well as academics, has gone through great difficulties in compiling this book, and we can now witness the splendid result of her accomplishment.

I am so honored. While he shares a lot more about The Feng Shui Anthology, I love this quote the best.. "Feng Shui Anthology is a Feng Shui masterpiece. Nothing is left out!"

Introduction - Sarah Rossbach
Sarah and Grand Master Lin Yun were the catalysts that introduced Feng Shui to the west. At the "final hour," I was so pleased she offered to share her profound introduction.

Feng Shui Basics

Earth Design: The Roots of Our Nature - Jami Lin
I have always been fascinated by the universal commonality. At its deepest core, the concerns of human kind are rooted in universal concepts. From the way we tell our stories to describe the workings of mother nature (mythology), to the parables in religious texts that define morality and law, and Feng Shui, they are all rooted in basic human needs and desires. I share the universal nature through time and culture as connected through man's physical environment, mental process, and spiritual quest. I love this stuff!

The Bagua - Ho Lynn
Ho Lynn is a lovely woman, full of spirit and dedication. In her comprehensive article, she shares the traditional explanations of The I-Ching and evolution of Chinese cosmology and how it relates to Feng Shui. Being Grand Mater Lin Yun's most senior student, she "gets in his head," and explains why and how he uses the Bagua with the 3-gate or front door method. She includes how to superimpose and read the Bagua on your home, face, bed, body, and much more.

The Power of Chi - Angel Thompson
I loved when I had quality time with Angel during a conference in Bogota. Besides being so fun to play with, her knowledge on so many metaphysical subjects and earth sciences are extensive. Having written her own Feng Shui book, Angel describes energy or chi as the universal force that influences everything in nature. She also shares the factors that affect the flow of chi, whether or not you have too much, too little, and how to help bring it into your home.

Drawing on Chi - Seann Xenja
Seann is a great guy, easy and laid back. I also loved spending time with him in Bogota - I am so impressed with his Spanish too. Seann's article is so excellent that I have even used his simple but very revealing pictures of energy to explain to students how chi influences space. Take the drawings one step further and you can visualize chi flow in your home.

Using the Components of Feng Shui Cures - David Daniel Kennedy
This is a gem, that I don't think that David shares in any of his other books. This article describes the attributes and the deeper meanings of the accessories that you choose for Feng Shui enhancements. He details the color, size, number, shape, value, symbolism, placement location of items, and much more. And if that's not enough, he shares performance components such as special timing, intention, special rituals, and transcendental integration. He even provides a method of working with dreams as a method of personal transformation.

Feng Shui Schools

The Five Phases of Energy - Mark Johnson
Mark is a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner. One of his claims to fame (and something he rarely talks about), is that he helped Master Ni (a Taoist master said to have a lineage of 70 generations) with his I-Ching translation. (This is the I-Ching version that I most often use). Mark describes the Five Elements and provides a very revealing questionnaire to help you discover the strengthens and weaknesses of your personality elements which influence your mind, body, and spiritual health.

The Seven Portents - Derek Walters
Granddad Derek...he is my first classic Feng Shui teacher and a scholar on Chinese philosophy, astrology, and Feng Shui. He was the first teacher who explained the energy of Personal Best Directions. One of the things I love about the way Derek teaches this, and it isn't the easy way, but if you "read in-between the lines," it will deepen your understanding of the Five Elements (which is vital in all Feng Shui aspects).

Riding the Wind and Harnessing the Water - Angi Ma Wong
Angi, another prolific writer writes about the five attributes that influence destiny. She continues with combining the energies of color, numbers, and the directional energies of the Bagua to increase wealth and enhance relationships.

Classical Feng Shui - Kathy Zimmerman
Kathy's article contains the most classical Feng Shui in the entire book. She provides an excellent over view of the twenty-year cycle, birth elements (for personal sleeping and most active directions), and annual energies. Good article.

The Mystical Meaning of Feng Shui - Juan M. Alvarez
Juan is a master metaphysician. When he starts talking, your head will be filled with the wonder of universal synchronicity. In this article, he gives a glimpse into his knowledge of color (rainbows, Five Elements & Six True Words), The Elements (with both eastern and western application), Directional Bagua Associations, and a bit of Kabalistic thought. Juan's article most certainly provides food for thought!

Tad Mann is a prolific writer on metaphysical studies. My favorite book of his is called Sacred Architecture. In his article, he shares the relationship of Mother Earth as a sacred entity and the relationship to Chinese medicine and to humankind. He provides the design and Feng Shui one an ideal project. He is brilliant, I would love to meet him personally one day.

Contemporary Architectural Design - Hank Reisen
Hank is a Feng Shui architect (the planet needs more Hanks!). In his article, he shares exactly how to apply Feng Shui concepts into smaller spaces: our homes. He teaches us how Form Feng Shui, proportion and dimension, and the balance of materials used are vital in the design of our environments.

Terah is a lovely and kind woman as well as a well-recognized Feng Shui author. She describes Feng Shui basics specifically for use in exterior architecture (shapes and energy flow), how to use the Five Elements in the garden, and how to balance existing structures with easy-to-design landscape ideas.

Landscape Design According to Feng Shui - Shelley Sparks
Where Terah leaves off, Shelly begins....She starts with wonderful design ideas to "create a more natural setting by imitating nature." Shelly suggests ways to design with the senses which includes sight, smell, sound and touch. Upon reading Shelly's article, you can almost visualize your peaceful green space.

Turn Signals for the Unconscious - Richard L. Phillips
I like Rick's article as it creatively describes how our environment effects our mind. As a talented architect, he also provides enhancing ways to use materials to expand space, define entrances and doorways, how to place furniture, and use lighting as enhancing "turn signals."

Feng Shui and Real Estate Values - Shera Gabriel
I would not consider buying or selling a house without Feng Shui. Shera briefly describes how to select our home with intrinsic property value in addition to the location-location-location adage. She includes how to increase property value in prep for sale to maximize price.

Feng Shui for the Spirit

Spiritual Feng Shui - Crystal Chu
Crystal is GrandMaster Lin Yun's most senior student and as long as I can remember does most of the translation when he teaches. Interestingly, they often have fun moments between them when she anticipates what he is going to say and she "translates" even before he talks. Bottom line: she really knows his teachings. Crystal identifies all the visible and invisible elements of Black Sect Tantric Buddhist Feng Shui. She explains the spiritual energy of the land, transcendental cures, and the Dharma wheel.
